From the heart of Etna,
from the heart of the earth
Always looking at the Mediterranean horizon.
And always protected by the Volcano.
Our vines grow on the south east slope of Etna, the most beautiful in terms of landscape and the most interesting from an enological point of view: here lava soils have old and deep stratifications and are constantly caressed by the sea breeze.
Being a family-run company for 40 years, we understand the uniqueness of this terroir.
We’ve chosen the organic farming to keep the soil characteristics intact, since we believe that it’s only through a great respect for the earth that we can get the best from it.
We only grow indigenous varieties of vines that, according to our enologist Luca D’Attoma, are planted in terraces to pay tribute to the traditional vine growing practice in the Etna territory.
WINES
DEAETNA
The name originates from the title of the latin pamphlet, dated back to 1494, that tells about the journey of Pietro Bembo to the top of the Vulcano.
CONTRADA BLANDANO
The grapes used for the production of this wine only originate from the oldest vines. We make a careful selection of the grapes followed by a slow and accurate aging in the cellar.
Rasola
An ancestral wine, a tribute to the earth and the family. A blend of red and white grapes. A wine made with a natural fermentation, without control or filtration. Clear and genuine.
Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Carricante, Catarratto, Minnella, Francese e altre uve autoctone
ETNA DOC ZONE
We are in the heart of the Etna Doc area, the appellation that protects all the typical productions of a wine area that is so different from any other in Sicily. With our work, careful and respectful of nature, we give our contribution to the protection of this area.

CONTRADA BLANDANO
Our vineyards are located in Contrada Blandano in the municipality of Viagrande. The estate covers an area of 10 hectares, situated between 450-550 metres above sea level, and include also an 18th century millstone, restored and open to visitors. This is a place full of history, a special place where the wine has been produced since the Greek and Roman Age.

THE GRAPES
The grape varieties grown on Mount Etna are Carricante and Catarratto for the whites and Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio for the reds. This area, on the slopes of Etna, allows the production of excellent wines with unique characteristics, that reflect the essence of the Volcano.

THE CELLAR
We conceived our cellar in order to hide it among the vineyards, following their natural conformation, carving out a section of the lava stratification inside it. The sight of the geological stratification of the soil commits us to a more and more rigorous and authentic productive philosophy.
